Achievements 

Katelyn Mazzochi in Year 7 was invited to attend the 2008 NSWCIS Awards on 27th February at Rosehill Racecourse where she received the award of “Outstanding Primary Contribution 2008”. In 2008, Katelyn was selected and captained the NSWPSSA Cricket Team for the School Sport Australia Championships in Darwin. She was also selected to play for CIS Hockey and was a member of the CIS Athletics Team. Katelyn finished fifth in the Shot Put in the All Schools Trials for the Pacific School Games. Last week, Katelyn was awarded the Mosman Daily’s “Junior Sports Star and Young Achiever for 2008”. Congratulations, Katelyn. These are outstanding achievements.

Cross-Country

Primary IPSHA Cross-Country
Congratulations to all girls in Years 3-6 who competed at the IPSHA Cross-Country on Saturday 28 March at the Kings Preparatory School. The following girls placed in the top 15 in their age groups and will now compete at the NSWCIS Cross-Country Carnival on Thursday 28 May at Eastern Creek Raceway.

Swimming

Primary NSWCIS Swimming

Congratulations to all the girls who competed at the NSWCIS Swimming Championships on Friday 27 March. The Relay Team of Siobhan O’Leary, Sophie Laycock, Charlotte Fell and Emily Gvozdenovic placed 5th in the Finals. Siobhan was a Finalist in the 10 Years Breaststroke and Emily a Finalist in the 10 Years Butterfly.

Australian Swimming Championships
Congratulations to Samantha Marshall who competed at these Championships at Homebush. Samantha’s results are as follows:

50m Breaststroke - swam a PB of 31.60 in the Semi-Final 
which broke the Australian Age record (16 years) 
and 31.79 in the Final finishing 5th.
100m Breaststroke - swam a PB of 1:07.86 in the Final finishing 5th.
200m Breaststroke - swam 2:29.05 in the Final finishing 4th.

Samantha is now ranked 6th in the FINA world ranking for 2009.

Emily Chancellor won the State 17-18 years 5km Open Water Swim event during the holidays. Samantha Marshall competed in the Junior Pan Pacific Championships in Guam in January where she won a gold and two bronze medals in her Breaststroke events.

Congratulations to Caitriona and Siobhan O’Leary, Sophie Stuart-Jones and Mia and Ruby Swadling who recently competed at the NSW Surf Life Saving Championships at Swansea Belmont. All girls competed extremely well.

Tildesley Shield Tennis 
Congratulations to all the girls who played in the SCEGGS Tildesley Shield Tennis Team. SCEGGS came 14th overall with everyone giving their best. Special mention to Kate Buddle, Eloise Callaway, Nicole Czeizler and Penelope McCann who progressed through to the 4th Round of Doubles and Chloe Chung and Elizabeth Miller who made it to the 3rd Round of Doubles. Our Linesgirls did a wonderful job with three girls being selected for Finals matches: Annika Bowd, Dominique Spork and Sharni Toomey.
