The SCEGGS Darlinghurst Archives is responsible for the care of SCEGGS' records of permanent value. The Archives were established in 1983. Since then it has grown to include the School’s official records and publications, an extensive collection of photographs and school and student memorabilia including school uniforms. The Archives also hold some records from the SCEGGS Branch Schools.
Preserving our Culture
The Archives support the School’s administrative functions. It also helps ensure that the school culture is preserved and developed within the SCEGGS community and across generations. It provides a valuable resource for researchers from family historians to those interested in both the School’s History and the wider issues in which SCEGGS has been a participant.
Supporters and Donated Memorabilia
Old Girls and their families have been strong supporters of the Archives, donating their own school records and memorabilia, including badges, prizes, reports, letters, schoolwork, autograph books and photographs. These donations, and the stories that come with them, continue to be particularly welcomed and valued as they provide insights not always afforded by the ‘official’ records.
Researchers who would like to use the Archives are asked to make an appointment with the archivist. Some records held in the Archives may have restricted access.
