External Performances
Kuring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra's School Concerto
Phenpitcha Talalak (Year 11, violin) and Jacqueline Brown (Year 8, Violin) participated in the Heats of the Kuring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra's School Concerto Competition. The girls entered and prepared themselves for a performance of the Bach Double Violin Concerto. Great to see SCEGGS musicians seeking out such mighty challenges.
Individual Achievements
Lucy Tonagh
Muso of the Week – Lucy Tonagh (Year 11) for her contribution to Choir. She has attended 100% of rehearsals, is always early, helps set up rehearsal space and contributes in positive ways. She is a whizz at memorising words to songs.
Jacqueline Brown
Jacqueline Brown (Year 8, Violin) on gaining AMEB Grade 8. What a great achievement. Jacqueline also plays the piano and the oboe.
Victoria Tanna
Victoria Tanna (Year 9, Violin) graduating at Level 7 at the recent Suzuki Graduation Concert at the Sydney Opera House. Well done Victoria.
Internal Performances
JFSATC Opening
Basie Jazz Band tested out the acoustics of the rooftop spaces for the first time at the Donors' Thank You Cocktail Party.
Holst Concert Band, School Choir and Madrigal Group led the ceremonial music for the Official Opening by the Governor of NSW. Hearing the School Song in this new arena was quite special.
Contemporary Vocal Ensemble (CVE) in a 'pop-up', lunchtime, celebration concert brought more great musical sounds to the new rooftop spaces.
Ascension Day
Madrigal Group for their important contribution to both the Service of Holy Communion and Old Girls' Service. Many Old Girls, staff and students commented on the wonderful sounds drifting down from Chapel.
