IGSSA Open Basketball Team
Congratulations to Ainsley Angelos who was selected in the IGSSA Open Basketball team. Brittany Ridlen was also named as a shadow player. We wish Ainsley well as she competes at the NSWCIS Basketball Championships.

Australian Under 16 Indoor Cricket
Congratulations to Katelyn Mazzochi who has been selected in the Australian Under 16 Indoor Cricket team to compete at the Junior World Cup in South Africa in September

NSW Under 18 Indoor Cricket
Good luck to Katelyn Mazzochi who will be representing the NSW Under 18 Indoor Cricket team at the Australian Junior Championships in Brisbane over the holidays.

Cross Country

Primary NSWCIS Cross Country Championships
On Thursday 14 June the following girls competed at the NSWCIS Cross Country Championships at Eastern Creek:

Hiroi Migita – 10 Years placed 35th

Ruby Swadling – 11 Years placed 6th

Ellen Kriedemann – 12 Years placed 2nd

Rebecca Liebson – 12 Years placed 13th

Good luck to Ruby and Ellen who will now compete at the NSWPSSA Cross Country Championships to be held at Eastern Creek on Friday 20 July.

Secondary NSWCIS Cross Country Championships
Well done to the following girls on some outstanding results at the NSWCIS Cross Country Championships last week:

Georgia Evans won the 13 years

Jennifer Scott placed 11th in the 15 years

Marina Carrier placed 8th in the 16 years

Georgia and Marina will now compete at the NSW All Schools Championships on Friday 20 July.

IGSSA Cross Country Carnival
A huge congratulations goes to the SCEGGS Cross Country Team who finished 9th overall at the IGSSA Cross Country Carnival held at Frensham last week. This is the first time SCEGGS has ever made the top ten! Thank you to Ms Lisa Thompson and her team of coaches who did a wonderful job motivating the girls at all the early morning training sessions!

SCEGGS had some excellent individual results:

Georgia Evans placed 2nd in the 13yrs

Jennifer Scott placed 11th in the 15yrs

Marina Carrier placed 7th in the 16yrs

Jennifer Scott, Emma Scott and Mia Parkes-Talbot finished 3rd and won the Bronze medal in the 15 years team event. A special mention goes to Emma Scott who ran with an injured shoulder and fractured rib!

We wish Georgia, Jennifer and Marina well with their training for the NSWCIS Carnival in June.

NSW Under 15 School Championships
Alice Heraud has produced another excellent result in the sport of Fencing. Alice won her first silver medal at the NSW Under 15 School Championships.

Inter-House Gymnastics Competition

NSW Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships
Well done to Samantha Fendall who competed at the NSW Rhythmic Gymnastics Level 7-10 State Championships last weekend. Samantha impressed the judges with her elegant and consistent performances and finished17th overall.

Well done to Camilla Liebson, Alessandra Lee and Gabriella Lee who competed at the NSWCIS U’16 Hockey Championships with the IGSSA U’16 Invitational Hockey Team.

Surf Life Saving Medallion
Claudia Hamilton, 12G, completed her Gold Medallion for Surf Life Saving on Saturday 14 April. A lot of work, training and dedication is required for this award and it is one of the highest you can achieve in Surf Life Saving Australia.

NSWCIS Swimming Championships
Congratulations to Elizabeth Cobden, Lara Molle and Jessie Digby who represented IGSSA at the NSWCIS Swimming Championships last week. Results were as follows:

Jessie Digby 4th - 12yrs Breaststroke

Lara Molle 9th - 50m Backstroke, 11th - 100m Freestyle

Elizabeth Cobden 11th - 50m Backstroke, 9th - 10m Backstroke

NSWPSSA Swimming Championships
Congratulations to Hiroi Migita (Year 5) who represented CIS at the NSWPSSA Swimming Championships on the 4 and 5 April at Homebush. Hiroi placed 2nd in the 10 Years 50m Breaststroke Final; 3rd in the 10 Years 50m Butterfly Final; 4th in the 200 IM Final and 8th in the 10 Years 50m Freestyle Final. Hiroi will now represent NSW at the Australian Swimming Championships to be held in Sydney, Homebush on the 29-30 July. Good luck Hiroi!

Well done to the following girls who represented SCEGGS at the NSW All Schools Touch Championships: Elinor Clark, Zoe Doutreband, Madison Hislop, Alessandra Lee, Mia Parkes-Talbot, Amy Parmenter, Ruby Perkins, Madeleine Ringer, Emma Scott, Sascha Swaraj, Sally Van Der Vegt, Sarah Wallis and Nancy Whiston.

The team played really well and finished 3rd in their pool behind some very strong competition from the Northern Region schools.
