The senior Drama Ensemble are proud to be presenting Nell Gwynn from June 12 to June 14. Nell Gwynn was first performed at Shakespeare’s Globe, London in 2015.

The time is the 1600s. Charles II has ascended the throne. Prior to his reign, women were banned from appearing on stage. “The theatre was the domain of ACT-ors not ACT– oresses!”

That is until the likes of Moll Davies, Peg Hughes and the eponymous Nell Gwynn arrived on stages…

It’s a rollicking tale performed by students from Years 10-12. And it looks sumptuous as befitting the period. Don’t be put off by the historical content… it’s a comedy with a fierce feminist narrative. Book your tickets here.
