Eleven SCEGGS athletes from Years 7–12 enjoyed an outstanding start to the school holidays, competing against the state’s best at the NSW All Schools Athletics Championships.
Our students demonstrated exceptional talent, determination, and sportswomanship across a range of track and field events, bringing home an impressive eight gold, two silver, and one bronze medal.
There were several standout performances, with Matilda (Year 12) claiming gold in both the 800 m and 1500 m in the 18 Years, while Stasia (Year 7) sprinted to double gold in the 100 m and 200 m of the 12 Years age category. Coco (Year 12) secured two para-athletics gold medals, and Sarah (Year 12) won gold in the 17 Years high jump. Lily (Year 12) and Beatrice (Year 7) earned silver medals respectively in the 5000 m and 100 m for their age groups, while Nancy (Year 12) claimed bronze in the 19 Years age category.
Congratulations to all our athletes! Six students (Lily, Matilda, Coco, Sarah, Beatrice and Stasia) have qualified for the Australian Athletics Championships. We look forward to following their journeys on the national stage!
