The Playhouse came alive with poetry last week as our Stage 1 girls took to the stage for the final Oracy Showcase of the year, celebrating the power of spoken language.
Throughout the term, Stage 1 girls explored how voice, volume, rhythm, and expression can bring words to life. Through practising and performing their chosen poems, the girls strengthened their language skills, while developing fluency and confidence as readers and speakers.
Our finalists impressed with their clear delivery, expressive performances, and courage in presenting to a large audience. Kindergarten students also helped launch the event with a delightful group recitation of My Shadow by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Congratulations to all our finalists on their wonderful performances and the progress they have made. These experiences help lay the foundations for confident communication and public speaking throughout the girls’ school years. Thank you to the staff who supported the girls and helped make this a memorable opportunity for them to communicate, express ideas, and build confidence as they progress through the primary years.
