Volleyball has officially joined the SCEGGS sporting program, with two teams making their debut at the popular Santa Sabina Invitational competition this term.
After training regularly during lunchtime throughout 2026, the teams were ready to take to the court for their first matches. The Year 7 team enjoyed an exciting start, securing a close 2 sets – 1 victory over Danebank.
The combined Year 8/9 team also put in a strong performance against Rosebank College in a closely contested match. One set went to a thrilling tie-break, with Rosebank narrowly winning 26 – 24, before SCEGGS bounced back to win the third set.
Volleyball will be offered to students in Years 7 – 12 in Terms 1 and 4, with plans also underway to enter teams in the NSW Schools Volleyball Cup.
It is an exciting beginning for volleyball at SCEGGS, and students keen to give it a try can join in at lunchtime on Mondays this term, with an additional net and court available in the Sports Hall.
