We are so proud of Celia Watson (Year 12), who last month won the very first Dame Enid Lyons Oratory Competition. Held at the Sydney Opera House with an audience of hundreds, Celia spoke with confidence and grace for eight minutes (with only 15 minutes preparation time!). She delivered a thought-provoking speech inspired by the quote “when they go low, we go high”, focusing on the world we live in and how we can make it a better place.
To make the day extra special, on the morning of the event the Governor General, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, welcomed the ten girls competing from schools across Sydney to Admiralty House to congratulate the girls and provide words of encouragement.
