SCEGGS Darlinghurst Announces new Head of School

The SCEGGS Darlinghurst School Board is delighted to announce that they have appointed Holly Gyton as the next Head of School for SCEGGS Darlinghurst, commencing on 1 January 2026. Download a copy of the announcement from Chair of the School Board.

Ms Gyton is a highly respected and skilled educational leader, both within SCEGGS and in the wider educational sector. She has a strong intellect, a passion for teaching and learning and most importantly, a deep commitment to SCEGGS and all it stands for. As the current Deputy Head of School, Ms Gyton is well known to many in our community. Since starting at SCEGGS in 1996, she has held many different roles within the School, including Year Coordinator, Head of Mathematics, Director of Curriculum and for the last 14 years, Deputy Head of School. In each role, Ms Gyton has brought a fresh perspective and a willingness to bring about thoughtful and considered change. Her love of lifelong learning is reflected in her completion of two post-graduate degrees while working at SCEGGS; she holds an MA (Pure Mathematics) from Sydney University and an MBA from AGSM at UNSW. She is also highly respected in a number of educational organisations outside of SCEGGS including NESA, AISNSW and the Australian Mathematics Trust.
