The introduction of the Jenny Allum scholarships extend SCEGGS’ ambition to foster opportunity, excellence and belonging, while honouring the legacy and service of Jenny Allum in a profound way by providing equity scholarships into the Primary School each year, mostly into Year 3. These scholarships recognise the challenges of inequity and social disadvantage within our local community and seek to create opportunities for girls and families from all backgrounds to access a SCEGGS education. Starting in the early years, these scholarships offer students the invaluable chance to begin their SCEGGS journey precisely when they are laying the groundwork for future success, while also allowing them to remain at home with their families.
Throughout her remarkable leadership, Jenny worked tirelessly to ensure that SCEGGS remained a place where intellectual curiosity, compassion, and diversity thrived side by side. These scholarships reflect her passion for nurturing potential; her unwavering commitment to extending life-changing opportunities to students, regardless of their circumstances and the benefit of a diverse school community for all students.

“SCEGGS stands up for causes, is strong in its beliefs, advocating for human rights and social justice, and caring deeply for every person, whatever their background and attributes.”
Jenny Allum, 2024
Welcoming students from a variety of backgrounds fosters a classroom environment that is more diverse, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating. Every student benefits from this tapestry of perspectives and life stories, growing in empathy, understanding, and broader awareness.
Our goal is to raise $8 million for scholarships as part of the Light Her Path Campaign. Over $3 million has been raised so far. By supporting these scholarships, you help SCEGGS remain true to its founding values of academic excellence, inclusivity, and a genuine sense of belonging.
On Wednesday 5 November 2025, our school community will gather for the Light Her Path annual Giving Day – a day that’s all about coming together and opening doors for every SCEGGS girl. For 24 hours, every donation will be doubled by generous matching donors.
Jenny was deeply committed to Aboriginal Reconciliation, and the inclusion of Indigenous students through these scholarships is a testament to that commitment. The Jenny Allum Scholarships are awarded on merit and means, empowering young women who demonstrate potential, determination, and a passion to contribute to the broader fabric of the School.
