Design and Technology Assistant

Applications are invited for a Design and Technology Assistant at SCEGGS Darlinghurst, starting in late January 2026. This is a permanent, part time position with approximately 20-25 hours per week in the Design and Technology Department during the school terms. There is some flexibility in the nature of the working week and this will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Reporting to the Head of Department, the successful applicant for this role will be responsible for the efficient day to day operation of the design and technology workshops, classrooms, storage and office areas. This includes setting-up daily activities, maintaining specialised equipment (such as laser cutters and 3D printers) and ensuring supplies of materials, resources & equipment are available in different spaces as needed. They will also provide a diverse range of administrative support within the department (such as ordering supplies, organising equipment servicing, processing invoices and ensuring compliance with different WHS regulations).

The successful applicant for this position will be highly efficient, able to prioritise and meet deadlines and have the willingness and flexibility to work collaboratively in a small, enthusiastic team. They will be self-motivated, reliable, friendly and open to learning new skills and undertaking training, where necessary. Experience and/or an interest in graphic design, exhibition design and/or managing digital archives would also be an advantage.
