There have been some outstanding achievements in sport this term.
Congratulations to Hannah Doolan, who competed in the FEI World Cup Finals held in Fort Worth, Dallas, in April.
Hannah was invited to compete in the Open Grand Prix against 25 riders from around the world, including leading amateur and professional athletes. Hannah jumped clear to place sixth – an outstanding achievement for our young Australian rider.
In hockey, Jess Weatherall represented IGSA at the NSWCIS Open Hockey Championships, where IGSA won the Gold Medal. Jess was also selected in the NSWCIS team for the NSW All Schools Championships in Newcastle later this month, while continuing to balance her HSC studies and preparation for the Australian U18 Championships in Darwin in July.
Annabel Armstrong and Clementine Finlayson represented Sydney East Hockey Association (SEHA) at the NSW Hockey State Championships in the SEHA 2s Division 3 team. The team remained undefeated throughout the tournament and drew 1-1 in a thrilling grand final against Lithgow after scoring an equaliser in the final minute, finishing as joint Division 3 champions.
It was a fantastic achievement for all three students and a wonderful reflection of their dedication, teamwork and sporting excellence.
