Ms Holly Gyton B Ed (Hons), MA (Pure Maths), MBA (Exec)

As a highly respected and skilled educational leader, both within SCEGGS and in the wider educational community, Ms Gyton has a strong intellect, a passion for teaching and learning and most importantly, a deep commitment to SCEGGS and all it stands for. In her previous role as Deputy Head of School, Ms Gyton was already well known to many at the time of her appointment.
Ms Gyton has an unwavering commitment to excellence in girls’ education, to maintaining a talented and professional teaching staff and to nurturing a culture of compassion, community, inclusion and respect. She brings a steadfast commitment to the leadership of and participation in the Christian life of our school.
Since starting at SCEGGS as a Mathematics Teacher, Ms Gyton has held many different roles within the School, including Year Co-ordinator, Head of Mathematics, Director of Curriculum and from 2012-2025, Deputy Head of School. In each role, Holly has brought a fresh perspective and a willingness to bring about thoughtful and considered change. Her love of lifelong learning is reflected in her completion of two post-graduate degrees while working at SCEGGS; she holds an MA (Pure Mathematics) from Sydney University and an MBA from AGSM at UNSW.
Ms Gyton brings a broad range of experience from the wider educational sector. She is a member of the NESA Curriculum and Credentials Committee and the Independent Schools Excellence in Leadership Teaching Council. Ever the mathematician, Holly is also a former President of the Mathematical Association of NSW, and a member of the Australian Mathematics Competition problems committee. These experiences enable Ms Gyton to bring extensive knowledge about contemporary education and its pivotal role in helping our students to flourish.
