Welcome to the SCEGGS Darlinghurst website!
I hope it offers a glimpse into the educational offerings we provide for girls in our classroom, in our co-curricular program, in our Inter-House activities and in our wellbeing and social-emotional learning programs.
SCEGGS is my kind of school in so many ways. We are an Anglican school where academic work is important, but with a joyful culture that celebrates and encourages academic success in others. We are also proudly a girls’ school and strive to grow the next generation of strong, independent young women who continue to challenge inequalities by striving for a future which is better than today. We want each person at SCEGGS – staff and student – to be comfortable just being themselves. We know that getting on with others isn’t always smooth sailing, but that being part of a community means that we can help the girls learn to care about each other while still holding conflicting points of view. And we all have a responsibility to give back to the broader community with open hearts and minds in the spirit of Christian service.
SCEGGS has an enviable reputation, not only for its academic success and broad curriculum, but also for being a nurturing, caring and friendly environment. Our achievements as a School are directly attributed to our outstanding staff, who are passionately dedicated to developing the most effective ways to help girls learn. We are committed to excellence in girls’ education and being an educational workplace of choice that values all staff. We want both the staff and students to enjoy coming to school each day!
To gain a true sense of SCEGGS and what it feels like to be part of our community, we warmly invite you to come and visit SCEGGS. Please contact us to make a time and come experience SCEGGS for yourself.

We acknowledge the Gadigal as the Traditional Custodians of the Country on which our School stands, and we honour their continued connection to Land, Sea, Sky and Culture.
As educators, we acknowledge that teaching and learning has been taking place on this land for thousands of years. We offer our respect to Gadigal Elders, past and present, and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples around Australia.
