TAS (Technology and Applied Studies) (7-12)
Applications are invited from passionate, creative and professional Design and Technology teachers with strong leadership skills and the vision and experience required to lead our department. This is a full time, permanent position, commencing at the start of 2027.
This key leadership position will lead a faculty which currently delivers Design and Technology, Computer Technology and Enterprise Computing, as well as the mandatory Stage 4 Technology course. The Head of TAS is responsible for the leadership and administration of this department, including curriculum, programming, assessment, staff performance and development and the promotion of the TAS suite of courses within the School community. They are also responsible for managing and coordinating several co-curricular activities, which offer students the opportunity to engage in the world of technologies beyond the regular classroom.
The successful candidate will be a highly accomplished Design and Technology teacher, innovative in their practice and deeply engaged in life-long learning within their discipline. In the classroom, they will be able to encourage, engage and inspire both staff and students, have experience in curriculum differentiation and expertise in using a range of different pedagogical strategies within the classroom, including the effective use of a broad range of technologies.
As a leader, the successful applicant will have strong management skills, high level communication skills, expertise in a range of technologies (including resistant materials) and the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team, by modelling the highest standards of professional skill and collaborative teaching practice. They will also be committed to the full life of the school and support its Christian ethos.
