Music Administrator

Applications are invited from enthusiastic, motivated, and capable Music Administrators to join our vibrant K-12 Music Department and support the daily operations of the team.  Reporting to the Heads of Music (Curriculum and Co-curricular), this role assists with the efficient running of our fast-paced classroom, peripatetic and ensemble music programs.

This is a permanent, onsite position commencing in late January 2026 and works from 7.15am -3.15pm during school terms and four weeks during school holiday periods throughout the year. The Music Administrator is responsible for:

  • Providing administrative support to the Heads of Music
  • Managing rehearsal schedules, room bookings and the department calendar
  • Induction of new peripatetic music tutors
  • Supporting tutors with rolls, timetables and communication
  • Managing and updating student lists and registers of attendance
  • Assisting with the organisation of concerts, excursions and events
  • Maintaining records, communications and logistical systems
  • Responding to enquiries via email and on the phone
  • Liaising with other key staff in the school

The successful applicant will be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel. They will also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with staff, students and families. In all areas, they will be highly organised, flexible, self-motivated and reliable. Meticulous attention to detail, initiative, a warm, professional manner and a genuine interest in supporting music education are all key requirements. They will also be committed to the full life of the school and support its Christian ethos.

While prior experience working in schools may be an advantage, it is not essential. Experience in a school or arts administration environment will be highly regarded, as will expertise in school management systems such as Synergetic or Clipboard. Formal training in office or business administration is desirable but not essential for the position.
