Our hope for our girls is that they will “know themselves, grow themselves and love themselves”

Relationships are at the heart of what we do at SCEGGS. From the beginning of the day during form time, our focus is on the complete wellbeing of our students; emotionally, physically, intellectually and spiritually.  We know that young people feel safe when they are in good relationships, they connect when they are in good relationships, and they engage in learning when they are in good relationships.

Our Pastoral Care program cultivates a sense of inclusion and belonging, as well as a focus on equipping our students with the skills to help them grow into flourishing young women.

Pastoral Care

At SCEGGS, we recognise the major role that Pastoral Care plays in developing the social and emotional skills of our students. Each girl is encouraged to be herself, celebrate her unique strengths and embrace the challenges she encounters.

However, being part of a community means that knowing how to care for others can be just as important as knowing how to care for yourself. Our students and staff have the right to feel safe and happy within the school environment. Whether within friendships, a year group or even beyond the Green Gate, we hope that all members of our community look outward and value others. We also recognise the importance of a strong partnership with parents for the welfare of the girls and open communication between staff, students and families is both fostered and encouraged. Our Anti-Bullying Policy can be found here.
