SCEGGS has a reputation for academic excellence, with approximately half of our girls achieving an ATAR over 90 (placing them in the top 10% of the state) – an outstanding result for a non-selective school.

The Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) is used to select students for entry into university courses. The ATAR is calculated using the results of each girl’s best two units of English, and her next best eight units of the remaining subjects studied.

The ATAR is a rank based on an aggregate of the scaled HSC results. It gives an indication of a student’s position relative to other students in NSW within their grouping. It must be remembered that the ATAR is not a ‘mark’ or an ‘average HSC result’. Go to http://www.uac.edu.au/ for further information about the ATAR.
