Government House provided a fitting backdrop as SCEGGS Old Girls Alexandra Argy, Gabrielle Cheung and Zoe Lindner, alongside current Year 12 students Georgia, Florence, Jemima and Isabelle were presented with their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award by Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AO KC, Governor of New South Wales.
The Gold Award is the highest level of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award and recognises sustained commitment across voluntary service, physical recreation, skill development and adventurous journeys. Achieving this milestone requires determination, resilience and a willingness to embrace challenges beyond the classroom.
Many of the recipients balanced their Award commitments alongside the demands of senior studies, demonstrating exceptional perseverance and leadership throughout their journey.
The presentation ceremony celebrated not only their accomplishments but also the personal growth, confidence and independence developed through the Award. As they look towards university and future careers, these students carry with them a globally recognised achievement and a strong foundation for the opportunities ahead.
Well done, girls!
