Official Opening of Wilkinson House

Official Opening of Wilkinson House

The SCEGGS community came together this week to celebrate the official opening of the redeveloped Wilkinson House, marking an exciting new chapter in the life of one of the School’s most significant buildings.

The ceremony began with a heartfelt Acknowledgement of Country from Year 12 student Ashaa Bonner, followed by a musical acknowledgement from students in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2. Former Head of School Jenny Allum officially opened the building, joined by Head Prefect Zara Perkins and the School’s youngest student, Lucy Vanderhoek, for the ceremonial ribbon cutting.

Originally built in 1928 and later serving as our beloved SCEGGS Boarding House, Wilkinson House has been thoughtfully transformed into a contemporary learning environment. The redevelopment balances the building’s heritage character with modern, sustainable design, creating spaces that support learning, collaboration, wellbeing and sport.

Made possible through the vision, generosity and dedication of many members of the SCEGGS community, Wilkinson House stands as a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared purpose. We are deeply grateful to each and every person who played a part.
