Congratulations to two talented SCEGGS Old Girls who are making their mark in the Australian art world!
Lilli Stromland (2012), who works at SCEGGS as a co-curricular Painting and Drawing tutor and Art Assistant in the Visual Arts Department, has been named a finalist in the prestigious Portia Geach Memorial Award. Her work, Self-portrait thinking of röllakan, features in the exhibition, which celebrates portraiture by women artists and runs until 1 November.
Meanwhile, Charlotte Barnes (2020) has been announced as a finalist in the Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship. Administered by the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the annual scholarship supports emerging artists aged 20 – 30 with an established body of work. Charlotte’s work, Recollection, is on display at the Brett Whiteley Studio in Surry Hills until 22 November 2026.
We are delighted to see Lilli and Charlotte’s artistic achievements recognised and look forward to following their continued success. Congratulations to both Old Girls!
